Primark gets on board with Getting To Work

Primark has now signed up to the Getting To Work scheme at Fosse Park to show its support for
sustainable travel. Getting To Work is the scheme launched in 2021 at Fosse Park to help the two
thousand staff based there to commute more sustainably. Fourteen of the stores have now made
their commitment to the scheme and lower carbon commuting.
Getting To Work provides free access to a range of initiatives to help with travel to work, including
discounted travel, free bus tickets, and the loaning of electric bikes. It also enables staff to obtain a
wealth of local transport information and maps to help ensure using sustainable transport is as easy
as possible. Getting to Work is being developed and coordinated on behalf of Fosse Park by local
sustainable transport consultancy, Go Travel Solutions.
James Stewart, Department Manager at Primark Fosse Park said “Getting To Work is a great
opportunity for us to demonstrate our commitment to promotion of sustainable travel at Fosse Park
and helps us in delivering our Primark Cares strategy. As part of this we are committed to halving our
carbon footprint by 2030 and improving health and wellbeing. Being part of Getting To Work is a
great help in achieving these aims at a local level.”

Robin Pointon, Managing Director, Go Travel Solutions, said “The Getting to Work program offers so
many benefits to retailers and their staff. For employers it provides staff with travel savings, it
reduces parking demand, supports health and well-being, whilst delivering reductions in carbon.
What is there not to like?”.

Adrian Young, Centre Manager at Fosse Park said “I am delighted that Primark have become the next
retailer at Fosse Park to sign up to our sustainable getting to work pledge. Staff at Primark will now
be able to access a raft of benefits and individual tailored travel plans which will help them make
sustainable choices in how they get to work.”
